Sainik School Kalikiri celebrated the 71st Independence Day with great fervor and deep reverence in gratitude to the priceless sacrifices of great freedom fighters.The celebration started at 0745 the school parade ground amidst a large attendance of staff, families and parents.Lt Col Ishani Maitra, Vice Principal andthe Chief Guest of the occasionwas received bySqnLdr TK Sumesh. The Chief Guest unfurled the tricolour to commemorate the sovereignty of the nation. Everyone in the assemblagesaluted the tricolour to express the joy of freedom to pay tributes to all the martyred souls.Thecadets led by Parade Commander Cadet L Gunasekhardisplayed a seamless march past with precise synchronisation to the school band, led by Band Major Cadet VivekTatkar.Cadets then delivered speeches and sang patriotic songs that stirred a deep sense of patriotism.MrsPriyanka Sumesh, the Guest of Honour distributed sweets to all cadets.

In her address, the Chief Guest said that all Indians must congratulate themselves for emerging as a powerful nation whenIndia clocks 71 as an Independent nation and must bow their heads in reverence for the sacrifices of great ancestors.She exhorted that as future citizens the cadets have to contribute immensely in nation building. “We must go deeper to stay blessed and continue to remain rededicated to withhold the spirit of freedom,” she concluded.
